Ang tulo gihinganlag Simiman University, Foundation University og Negros Oriental State University, St. Paul og daghan pa.
Kini ang municipality sa Guihulngan. Matud pa sa mga katigulangan ang Guihulngan kani-adto naggikan sa ngalang Gihulugan. Tungod daw kay sauna pang panahon naa kuno’y gihulog diri nga bagtingan mao na sa paglabay sa panahon namugna ang ngalang “Guihulngan”.
